Amanda + Tommy's Wedding

Wedding season is upon us...or at least my household..and this was my first wedding back post baby!! Can I just tell you how good it felt to get my wedding day on? With my trusty camera in hand and daylight in abundance I was back. The babe hung with her favorite pops and I kicked it with Amanda and Tommy.

These two are pretty great. They were so laid back and "go with the flow". Amanda was the opposite of bridezilla and Tommy's true self showed itself on the dance floor.

When I tweeted a week or so ago about leaving weddings feeling like a cousin, this was the wedding I was thinking about. Love these families. LOVE.

I should also mention that these two were moving to NYC right after the honeymoon. I am pouting at home. Wish I could come with. No offense Long Beach but New York City is probably the best city in the world.

Wishing Amanda and Tommy the happiest marriage in the universe!

Digital Memorys

[vimeo 26415684 w=800 h=450] I photographed Amanda and Tommy's wedding a few weeks ago....Digital Memorys did a great job on their video!

I find it so intriguing watching them in motion as I photographed them in stills. So great to see the laughing.

It's fun to shoot weddings.

Posting favorites from their wedding soon.

Wedding Season!

It has officially begun. Back to back weddings today and tomorrow. Bring on the lovin, kissin, and blushin. Bring on the suits and lacy dresses. Bring on the parties and dancing and golden hour light. Also if you have a Grandpa that can wear a cowboy hat, that would be nice.

Soon To Be Family

With two kids this couple decided to do a pre-wedding shoot so on the wedding day they wouldn't stress about everyone's "moods". SO SMART. The kids were charming and I do have to say...even though it wasn't offical yet...they were family.

I loved how much the kiddos beamed during their alone shots with Mom.

Shooting their Newport Beach wedding this Saturday!

Rebecca + Derek's Wedding

It has been torture waiting to share this wedding with you.

You can read about every detail here, that Rebecca shared for the Martha Stewart Wedding Feature...but I have a few things to say..

Most weddings are really fun for me and some are more fun than others. Truth. This one was more fun. Non stop action packed wedding day, from start to finish. Wedding ceremony at the LA Latter Day Saint Temple.. followed by a bike brigade taking over LA? Me shooting in the back of a mini van? A picnic in the park?  Diddy Riese ice cream sandwiches? A walk through the botanical gardens at UCLA with toasts afterward? A mini golf course at the Stagecoach Inn Museum chronicling their relationship? Cookies in the shape of their heads?!! This wedding was bananas!

It feels so good to finally get all this out.

A big huge thanks to the ever so stylish and creative Rebecca and to Derek, the dashing fellow with the ear to ear grin that stole her heart.

This is one wedding day that will be hard to forget.

I have been patiently waiting to share Rebecca and Derek's amazing wedding images with you...and now I can!

I am thrilled that Martha Stewart Weddings featured my work on their site and super excited for you to all see how great this wedding was.

Thank you Shira (from Martha) for being so great to work with and thank you Rebecca and Derek for choosing me to photograph your wedding extravaganza.

Stay tuned for a post featuring some of my favorites from their wedding day and in the meantime check out their online gallery here.

Erin + Tyler's Wedding

This is one of the last of 2 weddings I have to share from 2010.

Erin and Tyler's San Francisco/Oakland wedding was truly beautiful. Amorology was the wedding planner, and every last detail was thought about and executed to perfection.

The day was rainy and cold and wet and super romantic. I made a bad call and wore canvas toms which ended up being one of the only pitfalls of the day.

One of my very favorite things from their wedding was a poetry writer they had hired to write custom poems for all of the wedding guests. The Poetry Store is my current obsession and I am mulling over bringing her down to LA for a party of my own. Overall the travel theme of the wedding was pretty awesome. Maps, quotes, photos, scrolls...Apparently they have traveled pretty much everywhere. Jealous!!

If every wedding promised to be like this one I would place an order for rainy day weddings year round.

Erin and Tyler thank you for letting me be a participate (and thank you for being so accommodating to my pregnant self). xxoo.

Loved working with Amorology. Thank you Heather and team for giving me so much eye candy.

My assistant, Celeste, was top notch and Wilfredo did a great job of manning the photo backdrop.

Wedding: Oakland Temple

Reception: Brazil Room, Tilden Park

Chelsea + Spencer's Dallas, Texas Wedding

Chelsea and Spencer have been SO patient waiting for their images....so I had to give them more than a couple to look at.

There are a few things that come to mind when I think about this wedding...First, it was HOT. No, I mean it. While we were finding great spots around Dallas, getting back into the air conditioned car was heaven. HOT. Second, hot dogs. I loved our stop at their favorite hot dog/shake joint. Mind you I hadn't eaten an actual hot dog for who knows how long but baby was hungry and mama ate and LIKED. Third, their amazing friends and family. I am slightly biased because I knew some of them..but really so many gems. Last, more food! The food at their reception was so good. They had peanut sauce present. I mean, come on.

Thank you for having me out to Dallas and taking me on a tour. I love shooting in places that actually mean something to the couple. You were so laid back and trusting. That combo is my favorite.

I am dying to know how the move to Sydney was? Magic? xxoo.

Melanie + Dave's Wedding

This. wedding. was. the. best.

First, they flew me to Australia. Then I vacationed around before hanging out for a day at one of the most thoughtful/fun weddings.

Second, I want to be neighbors with them and take their dogs for walks when they are out of town, and call Mel crying when I'm emotional and make her come over and watch movies with me.

Third, Dave owns Vespa Pizza in Brisbane and I am not kidding when I tell you it was some of the best pizza I have ever had. How rad is it to be the creator of a super successful pizza business?

They are a golden couple. Everything about them is easy and happy and genuine.

Ruffled blog featured their wedding yesterday which was exciting. Check out Ruffled for more images and some details in words.

I could gush for hours on end about this wedding and this couple. Sometimes I probably need to shut it up and let my images have some air time.

Dave and Mel, LOVE YOU! Thank you a million times over for having us be a part of your wedding....and thank you even more for your new found friendship.

Featured on Ruffled!

Melanie and Dave's Brisbane, Australia wedding was featured on Ruffled today!

Go here to see the whole feature.

I have been dying to share this wedding and have been anxiously awaiting this day (as I know Melanie has).

Thanks to Amanda for featuring my work. Her blog is gorgeous and jammed packed with amazing wedding inspiration.

(I will post some of my favorites from this wedding tomorrow. xo.)

Candice + Jared's Wedding

Jared is one of our closest friends. He  is the brilliant illustrator behind my logo and our wedding invite/postcard. I was so happy for Candice and him..I felt like a proud parent.

What I wasn't happy about was the fact that Wayfarers wouldn't let me past the last pew during the ceremony. Thank goodness for my 70-200mm lens.

You can spy Grant as one of the groomsmen...and if you ask me there are two sets of twins at this wedding..

We just love them both so much.

The ceremony took place at Wayfarers Chapel which was designed by architect Lloyd Wright, son of Frank Lloyd Wright. The natural light during an "inside" ceremony was perfection. An artificial-light-free wedding, thank you very much.

Summer + Tyler

I like Summer's feathers. I need to wear more feathers.

Tyler and Summer are two of our good friends and we took these shots for them in under 1hr.

If you have a simple wedding planned or only need coverage for an hour or two and live in southern CA, let me know.

Sometimes short and sweet is all you need.
