my nikki

saw this and thought it was appropriate to post since I am shooting another close friends wedding tomorrow. man, I love this girl. how great is it,as a photographer, to be able to get the insiders view on a close friend experiencing one of their most life changing days? being in the moment with them is a rare and priceless gift. thank you to everyone that has allowed me to share in such intimate moments. I am truly blessed.

Talese and Greg- Feb 2, 2008

Greg was a "RA" back in his college days and Talese use to crush snails by closing her garage door on them. This is only the beginning of the dirt I found out about these two on their wedding day. Talese almost died when she was a baby and Greg came clean when he confessed, "I'm moody". Hands down the best thing I heard that whole day were the words both of them said about the other at the luncheon. I've listened to a lot of toasts and they gave the most sincere, heartfelt and touching tribute to each other, the best I've ever heard. I have trophys to give you next time I see you. I was honored to be there.

Keep on with being totally awesome and come visit me in LA!!

PS. You guys should look into professional couples modeling. People who look that good together should get paid.

Matt & Nikki-Sneak Peak-Jan 26, 2008

Here's a little something till I have time to post the whole wedding.

For the whirlwind planning this wedding was, it came together almost too perfect. It was like that magician from the Sandies Christmas party came and made the rain go away for picture time, laughter happen for toasts that probably didn't deserve it and the stress of the month previous just fade into the background....well actually everything faded into the background once the DJ happened. That guy was great. You could just randomly hear him announcing stuff and have no idea where he was. It was like God was DJing your party. How symbolic.

Barbeque, your place? Love you guys.

Dave & Melanie's Wedding

1 down, 2 to go. I'm glad you've cleared up some praying space for me Dave...and I am also glad you married Melanie. You guys are seriously such a great match. I never wanted your luncheon to end. when Dave got up and started talking about how he fell in love with mel, I was hypnotized. Dave was openly, and by his own free will and choice sharing his feelings and I never wanted it to end!!!!
The highlights of the wedding for me were:
-Mel wearing sandals in 20degree weather
-perfect lighting at the temple
-dave and mels toasts
-delicious homemade food at the reception
-the mirrored ceilings....totally awesome
-hanging out with my amazingly fun family

The whole day was a great winters jubilation....and for the record I don't usually include photos of myself while highlighting images on my blog, but I couldn't really resist.

Melissa & Paul-Dana Point, CA

Believe me when I say there is nothing I would rather be doing on my birthday!!! Your wedding was so perfect. Perfect weather, perfect children, perfect lobster, perfect dress(S)..perfect assistant. Really perfect. Thank you so much for letting me celebrate with you.

Here is just a teaser till I am back from Peru.....xxoo.

Kevin & Melissa's Wedding

Posting this wedding is long over due. It was a beautiful..rainy day in September and the images are worth sharing. There is something about bad weather on a wedding day that adds a certain buzz in the air (literally and figuratively). It adds so much energy and emotion. Although looking at the photos remind me of my numb hands, it's hard not love the umbrella being put to use for real rain. Props out of necessity. Now thats what I call keeping it real.

It was a great day you two. Here's to many more.

Becky & Dustin's Wedding-SLC, UT

Its taken me a while to post these because I have been busy on the new website...These are some of the images from this wedding that are going to be showcased in the new site. Becky and Dustin, the rest of your pictures will be online to view in the next few days.

The best part of shooting this wedding was definitely hanging out with the bride and groom. They were so laid back and open to any idea I had. They were just so easy to work with and I could tell they have a great relationship with each other. At his own reception Dustin was even asking if he could bring ME a drink of water! So thoughtful.

A highlight was watching Becky run back to give her dad a hug after she had gotten in the escape car and drove away. It was such a sweet moment to be there for. How lucky am I to get to experience all these meaningful moments in other peoples life's?

Janie and Dave-Raleigh, NC-June 29, 2007

I love working with this family for weddings becuase they are so well thought out. From timing to details to choice of a reception site, everything is breathtakingly beautiful and classy. I am so glad I jumped in the back of your car driving from the ceremony to repection. Not only did it give us a chance to bond a little bit more together, but some of my favorite shots are from that car ride. The slideshow presentation that Larry gave his daughter was so touching. There is no doubt this couple is loved. Thanks for letting me be a part of such a memorable day.

Jennifer and Stephen-Bountiful, UT-June 16, 2007

This was such a fun wedding to be a part of. Jenn and Stephen were so laid back and easy to work with. The highlight for me was definitly the break dancing. I am totally inviting their family to any of my parties...even the young ones knew how to shake it. Great locations, beautiful weather, and excellent choice in music. Brooklyn has no idea how much cooler it's about to get. Love you guys!!
